Number of visitors increases in Georgia

In the first quarter of 2011, Georgia was visited by around half a million foreigners which is almost 40% higher than the same period last year.

Apart from tourists visiting the skiing resorts, many foreign visitors came on business tours. This is an encouraging trend as it suggests that people are coming to Georgia even during the off season. Most of the recent business visitors came to Tbilisi and Batumi.
