Armenia’s Minister for Transport and Communications Manuk Vardanian stated that his country is considering the construction of a north-south motorway which would most probably take about 7 years. The project was publicly announced in 2009 when Armenia's government and Asian development bank concluded the agreement on allotting loan for USD 500 mln for constructing the motorway. However until today only USD 300 000 has been allotted and only a small part of the planning has been concluded.
