Agriculture analyst Paata Koghuashvili stated that the eco system in Georgia was facing destruction and he cited one major reason; unregulated cutting of the woods and forests. Other concerns the expert listed were the current system of land protection as well as the lack of professional agronomists. The land is not properly worked and suffers from erosion, particularly after such wet and windy weather. The country should urgently adopt a strategy for reviving and developing the agriculture sector and thus protect its population. There are problems in the lands for pasture that is why the number of cattle, sheep and pigs are decreasing steadily.
