The people living below the poverty line will be able to pay half of the fare expenses, the other half will be covered by the City Hall.
The issue as to why transportation costs are increasing on new mini buses has not been fully answered. News Agency Pirweli writes that a representative from Tbilisi Minibus Company told them that price is determined by fuel price, however after one journalist’s remark that the fuel price has not increased anywhere in the world including Georgia, this company representatives declined to make more comments about the issue.
Now, if a person was spending GEL 1 per day for travel, they will now pay GEL 1 and 45 Tetris for the same return journey.
