As employers have mentioned in the online media, they will have to pay GEL 290 for the registration of the GPRS system cash receipt apparatus delivered to them. All employers whose annual income is under GEL 250,000 will have to use these machines, which will be distributed free of charge by August 1. This is the only information available from the income tax department; which refused to respond to any questions until August 1. However, as the revenue department stated in February 2011, the equipment would be delivered to all small entrepreneurs and all tax payers free of charge. GPRS cash machines will be directly linked to the Revenue Department and information on each receipt will be transferred to the Department online.
