Georgia’s leadership claims that its tourism industry has become the first priority for the country. However in the latest tourism ratings, Georgia’s position looks rather modest and it is ranked 56th among more than 180 countries.
The development of tourism infrastructure, security, natural wealth of the country’s tourist attractions and other details were assessed in the rating. Georgia’s neighbor Armenia is in 83rd place, while Azerbaijan is in 90th. Official tourist organizations in Georgia have been quiet about this rating.
