Human rights issue in Georgia

The US Genocide Prevention Group published a list of 33 countries where there is a threat of human rights being violated. Unfortunately, Georgia was named in this list. The countries deemed most at risk are Congo, Pakistan, Iraq and Somalia, according to the list. The Genocide Prevention Group recommends that peacekeeping forces should be deployed there. However, Georgia is among those countries in the list where the risk is lower.

Former US high rank officials Madeline Albright and William Cohen are heading this Genocide Prevention Group. According to the recommendation of the group, a special agency should be created who would take steps to prevent any acts of human rights abuse from surfacing worldwide.
