Russia-Azerbaijan Economic Relations

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia by the end of 2011 might come close to USD 3 bln. Russian trade representative in Baku Yuri Schedrin stated that the oil transit from Baku to Novorossisk pipeline will continue.

At the beginning of October, Azerbaijan will host an official Russian delegation headed by the head of north Caucasus administration and Russian president representative there Alexander Khlopinin. The delegation includes top level representatives of the north Caucasus administrative entities. Several documents will be signed between Azerbaijan and those representatives, the sphere of cooperation includes energy systems in particular. Also envisaged are agreements on encouraging investments and their protection.
