The NABUCCO project has been delayed for around one year due to not achieving a final decision on the natural gas supply for the NABUCCO pipeline. According to new data the first lot of gas will be transported in 2018 at the earliest. Meanwhile, the initiators of the NABUCCO project try desperately to find solutions, carrying out negotiations between Central Asian countries on gas supply. This is a very important project which will secure natural gas to European countries bypassing Russia. However, so far there are many delays because no stable source of supply has been identified. Azerbaijan is ready to supply a certain amount of natural gas but it needs additional sources to fill up the pipes.
