Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project is in final stage

Azeri PM Artur Rasizade, during his visit to Georgia on December 20, stated that Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project is reaching its final stage and it will start functioning in around one year's time from now. The project will facilitate establishment of direct railway links with Europe.

Georgian PM Nika Gilauri also confirmed that the railway will start functioning by the beginning of 2013. The project will facilitate creation of new jobs for local citizens as well as cargo transportation between Europe and Asia.
