Russian Chief Sanitary Doctor Genady Onishenko stated recently that there are negotiations underway between Russia and Georgian mineral water distributors. The negotiations are not involving Georgian officials however because these companies are not registered in Georgia. Georgian mineral waters have been banned on the Russian market since 2006. As well as mineral waters there are certain steps being considered for returning Georgian alcohol to Russia as well; presumably referring to Georgian brandy Sarajishvili. Onishenko and his organization have already endorsed the return of Sarajishvili brandy to the Russian market. Now it is the turn of the Ministry of Economy to carry out the formalities.
