Some Georgian politicians have expressed their concern over current Russian economic activity in Georgia. Fair Georgian Movement (FGM) has raised the issue of Russian electricity distribution company Inter Rao, and its interests in Georgia. Inter Rao seeks to sell electricity to Turkey, recently purchasing the rights to obtain several hydro electric power stations and construct new ones in Georgia. FGM expressed concern that Russian investment in Georgia is increasing, and that similar purchases could further be made on Georgian territory. Party members accused the Saakashvili administration of conducting "subversive" policies contrary to Georgian national interest.
