Seen as a possible competitor to the Nabucco project, the AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector) is a broad natural gas delivery system running from Azerbaijan to Central Europe. Azeri natural gas will be transported to the Georgian Black Sea port of Kulevi, where it would be liquefied and sent in containers to the Romanian port of Constanca. Once there, the gas will be de-liquefied and shipped to various European countries. A memorandum to enact the project was signed in 2010, with preliminary discussions held last year. The proposed budget is 4 billion euro.
