According to the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Russian government believes that the return of Georgian products to their market is a matter to be dealt with exclusively by private businessmen.
According to Russian officials, there is nothing political standing in the way of Georgian-Russian trade. The Georgian government interprets this as a confirmation of Russia's politically-motivated trade policies, and indifference to reducing barriers.
