Brother of Kakha Lomaia works with Ivanishvili

Asaval Dasavali writes that Kakha Lomaia’s brother, Gia, works with business tycoon-turned-politician, Bidzina Ivanishvili. As Ivanishvili told the paper, Gia Lomaia manages one of his companies in Moscow.

“Yes, Lomaia’s brother works with me in Russia, and he is a very honest and good person. He feels sorry for his brother and he admits it whenever I meet him. By the way, I do not know Kakha Lomaia very well, I have met him only once,” Ivanishvili said.

Kakha Lomaia was previously the Minister of Education and Science, but has served as Georgia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations since 2009.

Tbilisi to cover medical bills of those injured in bad weather

Akhali Taoba writes that Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava confirmed that the city will cover all costs related to injuries in bad weather. Ugulava held an emergency meeting with the heads of the Cleaning, Public Works, Social Services, Transport, Emergency Situation Management, and Emergency Medical Aid departments, concerning problems caused by bad weather and heavy snow in Tbilisi.

Under the initiative of City Hall, any person lacking insurance and injured as a result of heavy snow or ice will have the cost of their medical treatment covered by the Mayor's fund.

So far, tens of people have been admitted to local hospitals due to snow- and ice-related injuries.
