According to Azeri state oil company SOCAR, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline is increasing the quantity of Turkmenistan oil it transports.
Turkmenistan oil has been transported through the pipeline since 2010, and in 2011 more than 2 million tonnes was carried. Since the beginning of 2012, that volume has increased daily.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, along with the Baku-Supsa pipeline, are the two major routes for transporting Caspian Sea oil while bypassing Russia.
