Average Georgian household spends 405 GEL per month

The National Statistics Office has published the 2010 data on average family expenditures. Their findings reveal that for an ordinary Georgian family consisting of 4 people, the household spends approximately 405 GEL every month.
Approximately 15 GEL is respectively spent on clothing and footwear, domestic appliances, and education, culture and leisure. The largest portion (168 GEL) goes towards foodstuffs, including beverage and tobacco. Forty-seven lari are spent on electricity and heating.
Some economic analysts believe the true figure is closer to 660 GEL per month.
