Unemployment rate drops

The National Statistics Office reports that in 2011 the unemployment rate fell by 1.2%. The official rate now stands at 15.1%; 6.5% in rural areas and 26.5% in urban areas.
Independent analysis suggests that the unemployment rate is closer to 50%, factoring in subsistence farmers. Polling has shown that Georgians consider unemployment to be the number one issue facing the country.
