Geostat, the Georgian statics office underscored the decrease in the existing minimum for male labor. At the end of 2011 it was GEL 163.2. However, according to new methodology, in 2012 it went down to GEL 154.1. Economist analyst, Lado Papava, thinks that this was done artificially. Other analysts suggest that the existing minimum soon will calm down and will be equal to pensions. Opposition members challenge the official figures and suggest that the existing minimum is around 220 GEL.
