Do you think the newly created Ministry of Employment will help those who are unemployed find jobs?

Tuesday, July 3
“As a pragmatist I would say that it’s not that easy to employ a person if there are no vacancies in the fields they are suitable for. So if the Ministry of Employment would think more about the creation of jobs then it will definitely succeed, but at this starting stage I can’t foresee the exact results of this new Ministry.”
Anna, Housewife, 44

“I don't think it will be effective to handle unemployment, you need to create jobs, not ministries.”
Lali, Journalist, 22

“The Ministry of Employment can only organize the vacancies and free positions. Creation of new vacancies depends on the whole course of government. Cooperation within the private and public sector under the umbrella of this ministry may have some results some day.”
Zakaria, Lawyer, 31

“I think yes, but they will help only 10-20% of unemployed people, as physically there are not many jobs available in my mind.”
Salome, Interpreter, 29

“When there are no jobs in the country, how would the ministry assist people in finding one? I think that the ministry will not succeed.”
Anna, Journalist, 35

“I have serious doubts concerning the newly created ministry. Business is not developed in the country, there are no factories opened. If the government creates jobs, I would believe that the ministry might function properly.”
Levan, Student, 20

“It is really difficult to say something before-hand, but taking the current Georgian economic situation into consideration, I doubt the ministry will be able provide people with jobs.”
Nino, Employed, 25

“I seriously doubt whether such a ministry can facilitate employment… They can oblige businesses and the private sector to employ more people, but it will have negative consequences– like low salaries for the newly employed and reduced salaries for older staff.
