Putin promoting CIS

At a July 9 meeting, the Russian diplomatic corp. President Putin of Russia, spoke about activating further integration processes in the CIS countries. Such activities include the union of three countries: Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. They have created a customs union and are targeting the creation of entire economic space. Putin has tried to illustrate the advantages of such a union to other CIS members in his attempt to encourage them to join. Putin also expressed his regret that so far Ukraine has refrained from uniting with this project and invites it to make decision as soon as possible.
