Unusual exhibition from colorful cocoon

Friday, July 13
The Merab Berdzenishvili International Centre of Culture hosted an extraordinary exhibition of famous jazz singer, Giuli Chokheli on July 8. Upon entering her world of amazing flower applications made from the usual cocoon bags, every visitor will feel the warmth and depth of her fantasy.

“The only thing I can say is that I serve the truth,” she said, finding it hard to explain what inspires her in making her flower art. It was in the US when she associated a bunch of cocoons with flowers. She has made hundreds of masterpieces since then.

Expressing his respect towards Chokheli, Tamaz Bibiluri, President of the Georgian Journalists’ Union, said his generation grew up on her songs. “We were all enchanted with her voice when she sang jazz and today I practically re-discovered the special artistic look in her,” Bibiluri told The Messenger.

“A person’s fantasy is limitless,” he said, expressing his respect towards Chokheli, who gave a new aesthetic look to the ordinary cocoon bags with her artistic value.
