Economic growth in Georgia has reached up to 8.1% in the second quarter of 2012. Overall growth for the first six-months of this year reached 7.5%. This information was disseminated by the Georgian National Statistical Department. Last year real growth of GDP in the country reached 7% and so the current figures are quite encouraging. However, a major indicator is still the welfare of the people which is still at less than desirable levels.
