Four tourists found in Svaneti Mountains
Rezonansi reports that rescuers have saved four Russian tourists lost in Svaneti’s mountains while climbing a few days ago. They have some injuries, but they are safe.
Rescue aircraft were involved in the rescue operation for the Russian alpinists on a mountain of the Greater Caucasus Range in Georgia. The group of four alpinists had stopped at the height of 3,700 meters on the slope of the mount.
One of the outdoorsmen has received a fracture of his leg. Therefore the group was not able to continue their way to Tetnuldi Peak.
A group of rescuers had already taken off to the alpinists’ camp, although they could not reach the camp as a rock fall impeded their way.
The Russian alpinists set off for the expedition six-days ago. They received the last consultations from their Georgian host. Details of the incident are uncertain as of yet.
