Tourism in south Caucasus

World Tourist Organization published its report concerning the conditions of tourists around the world. Georgia is leading among south Caucasus countries with Azerbaijan second and Armenia third. According to the document, Georgia was visited by 2.8 million tourists in 2011, Azerbaijan 1.5 million and Armenia – 758, 000 tourists. The trend in all three countries is positive. Of course there is no comparison with neighboring Turkey which in 2011 was visited by 29 million tourists who subsequently added $27 billion to the Turkish economy.
