Before the parliamentary elections, both the ruling power and the opposition promise serious breakthroughs in the direction of developing the Georgian agricultural sector. That means that currently, agriculture is in a bad situation, this could be said in particular in the cattle breeding segment. In 2006, Georgia satisfied 73% of local demand, in 2010 the figure decreased to 48%, this tendency is similar in beef and pork. The same is true in poultry. In 2006, Georgia satisfied 43%. In 2010, they reached only 22% of local demand.
