As Armenian seismologist Vladimir Balasanyan stated on August 15, a serious earthquake can become devastating for the country. As it is known south Caucasus is seismological active zone and nobody can predict the location and the magnitude of the possible earthquake. Most of the Armenian constructions were built during the soviet period and they were projected to resist 7 magnitude earthquakes. After Iran earthquake there was smaller earthquake in Yerevan. So far the world has no technical facilities to give reliable prognoses on possible earthquakes.
