Georgia’s Social Service Agency reports that for the last 2 months, agency employees have visited 559, 000 families and out of this number, the applications of 249, 000 families have been added to the electronic database of the agency. The data shows that the most desirable jobs are bank operator positions, accountants, nurses and teachers. The highest number of people that are looking for jobs, are those between the ages of 36-55. This age group is the general age where people are trying to support their families, while those under 30 are generally still attending university and seeking to improve their education through training courses. People over the age of 55 are already looking at their possibilities for retirement. Sometime ago, President Saakashvili initiated a change in Georgia’s taxation code where if an entrepreneur employs a person from 45 to 60 years old, that employee would pay no income tax. However, the statistics show that this alteration in the tax code yielded no viable results.
