The Georgian media makes public the list of the businessmen who were arrested since the Rose Revolution. The list, containing 147 businessmen, was provided to the Georgian media by David Begiashvili, a Georgian businessman who is in Switzerland now. Begiashvili revealed the major scenario in which businessmen are often arrested through the fabrication of very insignificant accusations and then sentenced to several years of prison, only later to be released by way of a deal where money is paid in exchange for freedom. According to Begiashvili all profitable business are lobbied by high- ranking officials though nepotism and self-interest. All prosperous businessmen are obliged to pay donations into the UNM budget. Different articles of economic type are applied to the businessmen and most of them see unusually long sentences.
