During a recent meeting with representatives of the business community, the leader of the GD coalition, Bidzina Ivanishvili, stated that there are monopolies on the Georgian market. In particular, he named pharmaceutical businesses and fuel. There is the opinion among the economic experts that there are more oligopolies than there are monopolies in Georgia, meaning that there are few producers or sellers of certain products on the market. Oligopoly members support and consider each others' interest and elaborate from practice of controlling the market. Ivanishvili met with businessmen and said that anti monopoly legislation will be drafted and this issue will be addressed in a serious manner.
