Tbilisi residents have expressed their discontent many times about attaching city cleaning service fees to electricity bills. For almost one year, citizens have been paying a certain amount of money for every kilowatt of consumed electricity. Recently, under the pressure of new leadership and the demand of the population, the cost has been halved. Analysts still suggest that this is not fair and that cleaning and garbage collection requires far less money than it receives through the existing payment. It is calculated that TbilService Group Company, responsible for clearing garbage from the city, will be mobilized for about 80 million GEL, which is much more than the service actually requires. Some analysts suggest that the difference is 30 million GEL. Calculations show that the company receives extra profit.
