Military budgets of the South Caucasus countries

The South Caucasus is a region with three major conflict zones. Georgia has two separated territories– Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which are being sponsored and controlled by the Russian Federation and there are frozen conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Karabakh. Therefore, all three countries pay special interest to their military budgets.
In 2013, in the Azeri state budget, there is envisaged $1.528 billion out of $25 billion assigned for the state budget for military expenses.
Armenia’s budget ($455 million) is almost three-times less than Azerbaijan’s military budget ($1.5 million).
Georgia’s 2013 state budget is around $5.2 billion. The military budget is over 414 million USD.
