Visitors in Adjara

Adjara is one of the main tourist regions of Georgia. From January to October 2012, almost 1.5 million tourists visited Adjara. Most foreign visitors come from Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran. Since many Turkish visitors to Adjara are either there on business or are truck drivers simply passing through the statistics might be misleading. The Georgian Statistical Office counts all foreign visitors the same, regardless of the purpose of their visit.
