Promised investments into the country were frustrated in 2012. Although the United National Movement (UNM) had promised that the FDI in Georgia would be over 1 billion USD, this promise was not fulfilled. The new Georgian Dream administration promises even more. They claim they will accumulate around 2 billion USD FDI into the country. Most of the analysts supporting this idea think that the guarantor of such investment is the figure of the coalition leader billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. According to his initiative, large investment foundations were already created in Georgia and his figure is the major attraction for the foreign investors. But again these are all just promises. 2013 has just started and let us wait for its developments.
