Adjara tourism issues

According to the Adjara Tourism Department, over 1.5 million tourists visited Adjara in 2012. In 2011 this number was 1.3 million. In 2010, Adjara saw less than 1 million tourists. The problem with tourism calculations remain, as not all those who cross the Georgian border are necessarily tourists. There is no exact figure that records all the visitors coming to Adjara from other Georgian regions and stay at private houses; these people are not generally registered.
