The Georgian agricultural sector is in a dire shape. Farmers complain about the lack of technical facilities, the high price on fuel, expensive fertilizers, problems with irrigation, etc. During the election campaign Georgian Dream's leaders promised to invest huge amounts of money in the agricultural sector. Agricultural officials have broad plans about reviving Georgian agriculture and are ready to carry out major changes to help improve it. The state budget has been finalized according to which farmers will be given special vouchers for cultivating their land. The amount of vouchers would depend on the amount of land each farmer owns.
