One of the main violations the United National Movement (UNM) has committed during their governance is that it created many cases of the illegal appropriation of private property from businessmen. Today there are many cases where businessmen are attempting to claim back their property. Multiple cases are registered in the prosecutor’s office by the businessmen. Altogether, the amount claimed back is around $3 billion. Chief Prosecutor Archil Kbilashvili met with the businessmen several times and presented different mechanisms of returning illegally appropriated properties to their rightful owners. The country is ready to consider the amount of loss of businessmen as a state domestic loan. But other possibilities also exist. However, these cases need to be regulated as some of the appropriate property was resold again and therefore it cannot be returned to the owners.
