Current data on Georgian population

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) by January 1, 2013, the Georgian population was 4, 483, 800; 53.2% live in the cities and 46.8% - in rural areas. The population in January 2011 was 4, 469, 200, in January 2012 – 4, 497, 600; 47.7% are males, while the rest 53.3% – females. There is a decrease in the number of people aged 15-29 because people mostly of this age migrate from the country. It is planned to carry out the complete census in Georgia in 2014.
