Saakashvili’s government has spent almost $1 billion as non-targeted expenditure. The brochure saying that more than $923 million was spent by the Rose administration during its leadership was distributed to the media during the press conference of Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili on May 14th. This money was targeted not at social programs or any economic projects. Construction of the parliament building in Kutaisi and the theatre building in Rike Park in Tbilisi, the Alphabet Tower construction in Batumi, as well as construction in Anaklia and other unnecessary projects, were named as examples of the careless expenditures. This figure mostly gives the account of the most recent expenditures carried out in the last couple of years. Definitely, this kind of expenditure will increase as more facts will be dug through the thorough investigation that is planned to start later.
