Money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased last year

Georgia received $122.4 million from abroad in the form of money transfers in April 2013. The Georgian National Bank said that is 8.6 per cent more than in April 2012. According to the report, the main part of the money transfers from abroad fall to 12 countries. Proceeds from these countries exceed $1 million. According to the Georgian National Bank, Azerbaijan is one such country. Around $1.1 million was transferred from Azerbaijan to Georgia in April– or $400,000 more than in April 2012. The largest money transfers to Georgia fall to Russia, Greece, Italy, the U.S and Ukraine. Around $13.7 million was transferred from Georgia to countries overseas in April 2013, compared to $7.9 million in April 2012.
