Situation at Georgian agriculture

The results of the polling carried out by the International Republican Institute (IRI) have shown that the majority of the respondents think that most of the achievements of the current administration have been in the agricultural sector. These include distribution of agricultural vouchers to farmers and other reforms carried out in this field. The respondents of IRI have also highlighted the decrease of taxes as a positive step. According to the projects implemented in the agricultural sector, more than 430, 000 hectares of agricultural lands were ploughed. The farmers received fertilizers for a total price of 53 million GEL, a considerable amount of pesticides, seeds, and agricultural tools. The Ministry of Agriculture claims that the Georgian rural population is quite happy with the activities in the agricultural sector.
