Transparency International Georgia recently announced that it will appeal to the Georgian Constitutional Court to abolish the new legislation adopted by the Georgian government, which imposed a moratorium on selling Georgian agricultural land to foreigners until January 2014. The relevant legislation was adopted by the Parliament on June 28 and signed by president on July 17. TI Georgia criticized this bill, which according to the organization violates the rights of foreigners by discriminating them. Moreover, it negatively affects the investment environment in the country.
