NABUCCO project frustrated

Most probably NABUCCO project is dead and different calculations should be carried out how the situation will develop for various countries once supporting the project. According to some opinions, Georgia will not lose anything serious as a result of the NABUCCO project failure. The NABUCCO project was supported by European countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Austria. Georgia was not directly participating in the project, but it would have offered already existing infrastructure-gas pipelines and would receive certain benefits.

The failure of the NABUCCO project will definitely increase the influence of Russian gas supplies in Europe thus making European countries more dependent on Russia. However, Europeans are suggesting another project called TAP which will run pre-Caspian gas to Italy, Greece , Albania and some other European countries via pipelines in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
