Georgia’s current government is doing its best to reorganize Georgia’s economic development strategy. A special council of advisors has been working hard on writing a document that will outline the government's plans for economic development. Presumably it will be ready before the presidential election. Among the issues to be highlighted in the document are the importance of expanding the private sector by increasing exports, supporting innovation and better utilizing Georgia’s transport potential; the second is the need to invest heavily in the development of human resources: education, employment, training, etc; the third is the expansion of the social welfare system.
