Armenia and railway in Abkhazia

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated in his recent interview that the running of the railways in Abkhazia, which can facilitate the direct land connection between Armenia and Russia, is very important for Armenia. He said the decisions concerning the construction of the railway are being made by Georgia, Abkhazia and Russia. He also commented that the railway connection makes the trade between the two countries much easier. According to Kocharyan, all the participant countries will benefit from the restoration of the railway links.
