Armenia hopes to receive cheap gas from Russia

Armen Movsisyan, Armenia's energy minister, has spoken about the possibility of gas from Russia being subsidized. Movsisyan explained that Russian state energy company Gazprom has decided to sell natural gas to Armenia at $270 per thousand cubic meters. Movsisyan expressed his hope that 30% of this amount will be subsidized. The minister expressed his confidence that as soon as Armenia enters the Eurasian Union the price of natural gas from Russia will fall to $189 per thousand cubic meters.
