Events for Oktoberfest unveiled

On 25th of September at 12:00, Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel held a press-conference with regards to the upcoming “Oktoberfest”, a traditional Bavarian beer festival which will be held at the hotel from 28th of September to 3rd of October.

Heidingsfelder, General Manager of Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, highlighted that the given event is not only focusing on Bavarian food and beer.

Sheraton is always “connecting people” with their different human values, traditions and customs. “We believe that events like the Oktoberfest will bring German & Georgian society closer. Beer festivals are not rare in Georgia. However, the "Oktoberfest" is totally Bavarian, and will show the Georgian society how the Bavarians celebrate this yearly festival. Original Food - not only sausages - decoration with garlands and a tent in white and blue, national Bavarian dresses (Lederhosen and Dirndl) are part of every day’s evening events. One of the highlights will be the 7-man band “BlechSaitn Musi” which will arrive on time for the opening ceremony on Saturday at 4pm. During the traditional “Fruhschoppen” on Sunday morning, a Jam-Session will be held by the folk band and the well-known Georgian “Urmuli“.”

One more highlight of the event will be the Raffle! Sheraton Hotels and Lufthansa German Airlines are giving all Oktoberfest visitors the great chance to win an unforgettable trip for two on a weekend to Munich, the Bavarian capital. Raffle will take place on October 3rd at 9:30 pm.

The Oktoberfest is the most famous folk Beer Festival in the world and is held yearly since 1810 at “Theresienwiese” in Munich, Bavaria. The world’s largest fair is visited by around six million people every year. This year, Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel is proud to announce that it has managed to bring some German Beer Festival Tradition to Tbilisi.

Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel is inviting all friends of German tradition - good beer, food, wine and music- to join their Oktoberfest. The event will start every day at 7 pm between September 28th and October 3rd. The festival is held under the patronage of His Excellency Ortwin Hennig, the Ambassador of Germany in Georgia and is being supported by Lufthansa German Airlines, Kaiser Weissbier and Georgia Today Group.

• Every day, from 7pm - Rich Bavarian Menu accompanied by live performance of the folk Band „BlechSaitn Musi“.

• September 28th, at 4pm – “O’zapft is” organized under the patronage of His Excellency Ortwin Hennig, the Ambassador of Germany in Georgia.

• September 29th, from 10:30am – Musical pint meeting - the traditional „Fruhschoppen“. Enjoy the musical Jam Session of folk bands “BlechSaitn Musi” and “Urmuli“. Don’t miss getting Bavarian white sausages and pretzels.
