11 wine companies took part in Sighnaghi Festival

On October 13th, Sighnaghi hosted a wine festival, with 11 wine companies participating. The companies exhibited wine made using "European" technology, while local vintners exhibited wine made using traditional "peasant" technology. The festival also showcased performances of folk ensembles and a local handicraft fair.

Sighnaghi is a town in Georgia's easternmost region of Kakheti, dominated by the production of wine, traditional carpets and Georgian traditional food. Sighnaghi has recently undergone major renovation and has become an important center of Georgia's tourist industry. (Hvino News)
