Azerbaijani Railways to reduce cost of tickets on Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route
Thursday, November 21
Implementation of a special internal tariff for the Baku-Boyuk Kasik-Baku railway section could lead to a 20 per cent reduction in the price of tickets for international journeys using the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route, head of the press service of Azerbaijan Railways LTD, Nadir Azmammadov told Trend on November 19.
"For instance, the cost of a ticket for one seat in the compartment is approximately 25 manats, but by using a special tariff this price will amount to nearly 20 manats. Currently, work is underway to specify the tariff and we will be able to talk about a concrete figure later," the head of the press service said.
The Baku-Tbilisi fast train departs from the Azerbaijani capital at 20:30 daily (local time).
As Azmammadov said, the decision to use a special internal tariff was made to improve passenger traffic on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route. (Trend)
