Over 30 million foreign tourists visit Turkey in 10 months

The number of foreign tourists in Turkey increased by 11.5 per cent in 10 months compared to the same period of 2012 and amounted to 31 million people, CNN Turk TV channel reported on Nov.25.
According to the TV channel, some 14.6 per cent of the total number of foreign tourists fell to Germany, around 13.01 per cent to Russia, 7.6 per cent - Great Britain and 4.79 per cent - Georgia.
The remaining tourists fell to other countries.
Earlier, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Omar Celik said the country's tourism sector is being developed daily.
According to Celik, at present Turkey is among the top 10 developing countries in the field of tourism.
He also stressed that the country will continue implementing reforms for the development of its tourism sector.
Turkey's revenue from tourism increased 4.7 per cent in the third quarter of 2013, compared to the same period of 2012, the Turkish Statistical Institute said earlier.
Turkey gathered some $11.579 billion from the tourism business in July-September.
About 79.6 per cent of the total volume of revenue fell to foreign tourists.
According to the institute, about $8.367 million was obtained during personal trips and $3.212 million as tourist package sales. (Trend)
